About.
Katerina Alexander had a pretty normal childhood - normal, at least, for a world where people know that inhumans exist, where magic is real, albeit rare. You know the kind. Katerina (Kat to her brother, Kittycat to her parents) never thought much about it beyond granting respectful space to the territories of weres and vampires, and the occasional death in the papers. Then she turned 18, and started manifesting a surprising power: healing energy, localized in the palms of her hands, but a kind that only works on inhumans.
She could have gone her whole life not knowing about it, if not for a chance incident with a youth from a local coyote pack. That one fateful encounter opened Katerina up to a world she wasn't prepared to handle. Her powers are growing, or at least they seem to be, although she knows next to nothing about either their origin or their limits; she's trying to use them for good, but... well, you know what they say about good deeds going unpunished.
She knows now that she has eyes on her - that somebody, she doesn't yet know who, is trying to find her because of what she can do. It took the death of her father in a home invasion by inhumans for her to leave her family behind, heartbroken and terrified and reasoning that since her powers obviously weren't going away, she'd have to.
These days, she travels. Makes her living where she can, uses her powers when she can, moving on at the first sign of trouble. Mostly she's on her own, figuring out how to walk the line between making a difference and staying alive. She'd love to find some answers someday. And maybe it'd be nice to rest for a little while, too.
